Green Jobs ("the Company," "we," "us") is committed to protecting the privacy and data integrity of our Employers and Talents. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard personal data in compliance with the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) of the Republic of Ghana.

Data Controller 

Green Jobs acts as the Data Controller for the information provided on this platform. We are responsible for ensuring that your data is processed lawfully, fairly, and transparently.

Information We Collect 

To provide recruitment services, we collect the following categories of data:

  1. For Talents: Full name, contact details (phone/email), residential address, Ghana Card number (for verification), educational history, professional certifications, and uploaded CVs.
  2. For Employers: Business registration details (RGD), Tax Identification Number (TIN), office location, and contact person details.
  3. Technical Data: IP addresses, browser types, and cookies to improve site functionality and security.

Purpose of Processing 

We process your data only for the following "Specified Purposes" (Section 18 of Act 843):

  • To facilitate the matching of Talents with potential Employers.
  • To verify the identity of users and prevent recruitment fraud.
  • To communicate platform updates, job alerts, or security notices.
  • To comply with statutory requirements from the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) or law enforcement.

Data Sharing and Disclosure 

  • To Employers: When a Talent applies for a job, their profile and CV are disclosed to the respective Employer.
  • Third-Party Service Providers: We may use secure third-party payment gateways (e.g., Paystack, Flutterwave, or Hubtel) for processing employer fees. We do not store credit card or MoMo PINs.
  • Legal Mandates: We will disclose data to the Data Protection Commission or the Ghana Police Service if required by a court order or to investigate fraudulent activity.

Data Retention 

We retain personal data only for as long as an account is active or as needed to provide services.

  • Inactive Accounts: Accounts inactive for more than 24 months will be flagged for deletion.
  • Deletion Requests: Users may request the permanent deletion of their data at any time, subject to any legal obligations we have to retain specific records.

Security of Data (Section 28, Act 843) 

We implement robust technical and organizational measures to prevent unauthorized access, loss, or destruction of data, including:

  • SSL Encryption: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted.
  • Access Control: Only authorized Green Jobs personnel have access to the backend database.
  • Breach Notification: In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users and the Data Protection Commission within the timeframe required by law.

Your Rights as a Data Subject 

Under Ghanaian law, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request the rectification of inaccurate personal data.
  • Objection: Object to the processing of your data for direct marketing.
  • Erasure: Request that your data be "forgotten" from our systems.

International Data Transfers 

While Green Jobs is based in Ghana, our cloud servers may be located outside the country. By using the platform, you consent to the transfer of your information to these servers, provided they maintain data protection standards equivalent to Act 843.
